Eastern Cheer and Dance Academy strives to provide dance classes which are not only fun for our students but encourages hard work and dedication to not only their dancing but in all aspects of life.

Our History

Eastern Cheer & Dance Academy started as Vikings Cheerleading Club in 2012 in Surrey Hills Victoria, just for fun with one competition pom team coached by Annie Merriel and Kaitlin Brown. Our first dance team was a Senior Pom team who placed third at their first ever competition (AASCF Winterfest 2012) and fourth at their second ever competition (AASCF VIC State Championships). After a very successful first year of competition the girls in our debut team were eager to come back and do it all again and we started to gain interest in teams for other age groups as well.

In 2013 we jumped from just one dance team to five dance teams and two dance doubles, from just offering pom style dance classes to being able to offer Jazz, Contemporary/Lyrical and Hip Hop. From 2013 to 2017 we have grown in numbers and built a family of dancer who are encouraging to not only each other but to all of their fellow competitors at cheer and dance competitions around Australia, won a few trophies along the way.

In 2018 we are moving into our new home in Vermont, Victoria, a building with two full equipped dance studios and it comes with a whole bunch of new dancers the Eastern Cheer & Dance family.
