Lisa Moxon

Lisa’s debut into dance was through ten years of Calisthenics training during her childhood. This built the foundations for her love of dance and performing, which then led her to further pursuits in Ballet and Contemporary in her later teen years. She grew up in Canberra, where she was a member of Quantum Leap Youth Contemporary Dance Company and began performing in a more professional capacity.

After graduating high school in 2012, Lisa’s desire to make dance her career led her to Melbourne where she began studying her Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and Bachelor of Education, at Deakin University, which she achieved in 2017. Her contemporary dance training at Deakin created opportunities to study dance in New York, where she completed internships with esteemed contemporary dance artists including Jennifer Monson, Irene Hultman, Tere O’Connor, and KJ Holmes. Upon graduating from Deakin Lisa had the privilege of dancing for Michelle Ludecke in her work ‘Malestrom’, and in creating and performing her own collaborative dance work ‘Underneath Your Fingertips’.

Over the past three years, during the course of her studies, Lisa has realised that dance education is where her true passion for dance lies. She has completed her Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and Diploma of Early Childhood Education, and is a registered teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. With qualifications in dance and education, from early childhood through to VCE, Lisa endeavours to teach others to love dance, and for dance to enrich their lives as much as it has hers.

In 2018 Miss Lisa will be teaching Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary at Eastern Cheer and Dance Academy and is sincerely looking forward to dancing with all of her students this year!
